I recently purchased an Xbox 360 console. It is well documented that this console often has problems. I understood that Xbox/Microsoft was doing what they could to fix these problems. Alas, my console died last night. I was attempting to discover the problem by following each suggestion on the troubleshoot section of their website. Nothing worked. I contacted tech support at 1.800.4MY.XBOX. I was greeted by an operator from an answering service outsourced to India. This is nothing new in tech support. I very clearly stated my problems and the steps that I had taken to correct the issue. Its now been 25 minutes on the phone and she begins to ask questions to help me troubleshoot. Is Staples Extended Warranty Worth it?

Hello all! I made the BIIIGG mistake of purchasing an extended warranty, from Staples, for my HP laptop. Well, over 2 MONTHS ago (Dec.17 2007) I took it in to have the DVD burner fixed. Well, they determined that it was covered under the terms of the warranty an off it went! So I waited.. and waited... and waited.. and, finally, on Jan. 7/08 I received a call informing me that theyd received the wrong part and it would be another 5 days till Id get my (repaired) unit back. Nothing doing; after repeatedly calling the warranty centre (and being told many a spurious story), I was told that the part was there (02/07/08) and would be instaled then shipped back. On December 18th, 2007, my husband purchased a very good Canon digital camera for our son for Christmas. Unfortunately, our son was less than thrilled, as he is not into photography at all. He did not want to hurt his dads feelings, however, so he did not say so. I encouraged him to return the camera and pick out something else instead. He finally decided in mid-January that what he would really like is some audio equipment for his car.
Imagine my shock when I called the Whitehall, PA store on January 18th and found out that digital cameras and computers cannot be return after 14 days (or January 8th for Christmas gifts). Problems with Sprint Family Plan Billing

I singed up of a family plan with Sprint. Almost two years ago. I now have only one month of hell to go through. Since I got the phone, I have had to call every Month since I got the phones (2) for my sister and I. I had to call to get texting taken off and then to get www taken off. Then there are charge again for service we dont have.
Heres the kicker though, My sister dropped her phone on the beach. I got stuck in something called car mode. After calling about the phone for many months I said Its broke just remove it from the plan. OF COURSE I STILL PAY FOR A FAMILY PLAN. Microsoft Refuses to Reactivate Suspended or Cancelled Xbox Live Account

I had a subscription to xbox live and my credit card expired before the renewal date. I didnt really have much time to play xbox so I let the account go into suspension.
Now that I finally bought myself an xbox 360 I went to reactive my gamertag and I literally spent a couple hours trying to get it to work. I migrated my gamertag, updated my billing information, and nothing would work.
I emailed xbox support and they were basically no help, and forwarded me to their phone support. When I finally called them I jumped through all the hoops with their lame voice recognition answering system and finally talked to a person. Paypal is no Friend of Mine

I have heard many Paypal horror stories over the years and never really had a problem despite using Paypal for many years (since before they were hugely popular)
Well, even though I was within Paypals Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, Paypal closed my account without warning or without contacting me or asking questions first. It means that I am permanently banned from using Paypal to send or receive money.
I was not doing anything to damage the service or its users. I was selling a advertising which is a legitimate service but Paypal disagreed with one of the websites I was selling ads for. They completely over-reached on their terms of service and unjustly terminated my account.

Home Depot mows over their Warranty

I am far from a problem customer or someone who tries to get freebees. I rarely even send food back if it sucks, at a restaurant. I bought a new lawnmower at Home Depot last Fall, Labor Day, an MTD with self propel. I used it 3 times last year, and like 8 or 9 this year, I have a flat yard, never hit anything with it. The belt for the self propel fell off, and the pulley moved, so the belt was thrown off........I would guess the grass lodged up in there did that, it [is] front drive and all the [stuff] gets caught up under that cover. Plus the handle is too low and makes it uncomfortable to use, would work for someone 5ft6 LOL...

United Furniture Warehouse: Get less than what you paid for

I had just bought a new house and it was time to furnish it. We didn't really know where to go so we decided to try United Furniture Warehouse. We had never been there before. Money wasn't really an issue but I appreciate a good deal so their prices looked really good to me. We bought a bedroom set, a dining room table with chairs, a bar-style table with chairs, a couch, and recliner. I bought the extended furniture protection plan to go with it.
The problems started with the bar-style table and chairs. I really wasn't aware that EVERYTHING from UFW required assembly. Coldwater Creek, a clothing store for women, is known for exceptional customer service. Too bad they dont treat their employees the same way. I worked at a CWC store for a long time and it was very poorly managed. There was a change of managers when I was there which resulted in the assistant being made the manager. She was rude and abusive to customers and employees alike! The first thing she did as a manager was hire her best friends to be her assistants. That was as good an idea as it sounds! Dont send cheques to pay your bill. In August I sent them an $80.00 cheque which they did cash but never posted to my account. When I noticed and inquired, we started going through all the channels to find out what happened, Ive faxed a copy of the cashed cheque to them twice and they are still telling me that they are waiting for it. Weve confirmed fax numbers, Several times theyve expressed that yes, indeed they have found that they are at fault and they will be posting the payment, yet 5 months later, I am still waiting. There is no authority that I can deal with because they have only call centres, so no one ever follows up. All I want is to see my $80.00 posted on my account and we can all go on with our lives. ... The apartment that i live in made me switch cable providers by shutting off my old one and making me take this NEX3, i pay more and recieve less now. The bad thing is my internet connection is horrible i think i can get a faster connection with dial-up and when i try to call the office they say theres problems in the area which has been about 3 weeks now. We bought an OTT Lamp L24554 from Joaan company here in Tucson a little over a year ago. The lamp appeared to have burned out in less than 100 hours of use so we ordered 2 spare lamps from Joaan.com on December 8, 2007 for $31.49. These type of lamps should last several thousands hours. The new lamps did not work so it appeared that the ballast was bad in their lamp fixture. Most ballast only cost $5.00 or less but they would not sell me a ballast at any price but said to send the lamp head in and they would repair it for $19.95 plus shipping. When they got the lamp head they said they could not fix it because they needed the 2 wire cord and the whole lamp fixture to do the repair. The first shipping for the repair was $10. They also ... On December 30,2007, I was doing my grocery at Zellers when I saw an ad at the store for a KitchenAid 10 cup coffee maker. It was originally $140 but they were selling it for $70. I took the add with me which had the sku number, the picture and the price of the item. I decided that Ill drop by Home Outfitter after because I needed to get a couple of things, and buy the coffee maker at the same time.

I purchased a dual monitor PCI card from Staples store 60 in Edmonton Canada.
Hours later I returned it because my computer was not compatible to that model (radeon x1300). The store manager accused me of switching products claiming the one in box I returned was not the same one I bought.
This is one of the most discusting ways to treat a customer and I will take this matter to extreme levels.

Honda Pressure Washer Breaks Under Pressure

I purchased a Honda powered pressure washer some years ago, using it infrequently to wash my Suburban and other small vehicles.
It worked well and for about ten uses, did a fine job of taking off accumulated dirt and grime. The Honda engine started very reliably, ran strong, and seemed like a perfect match for the medium duty washer.
But a small piece of the main block casting failed and put it out of service. The head, the main cylinder and a good portion of the crankcase are all one pice of aluminum. the piston, rod and crank must be installed from the bottom. The crankcase splitline is on a 45 degree angle, a new design for sure.

I submitted a print project to Staples in Palm Bay Florida on Friday 4/27/07. It is a simple project for book marks.
The person that was assisting me told me that she required
$60.00 upront. Another store employee came over and said I didnt need to pay anything until I received a sample of the work. I was told that they would submit the order first thing Saturday morning 4/28/07. I called 4/30/07 Monday to check on the order and was told it had never been sent out for processing. I bought ink cartridges from this website because I thought that it was brand name Canon ink. The photos showed brand name Canon cartridges and I didnt note the generic in the description until the invoice came in the box with all the boxes of compatible non-OEM ink.
My printer had already been damaged by immitation ink so I decided to just go ahead and use the cartridges because they were so cheap... I told them in a complaint email that they shoudl stop using brand-name cartridge photos to sell cheap immitation cartridges. My two sisters needed computer monitors so I took them to a store called Computer Trends to purchase some monitors. They were selling AOC monitors at a price that could not be beat, plus they came with a 3-year warranty. We bought two and were on our merry way. Unfortunately, BOTH monitors started to show considerable deterioration within one year. The screen was so blurry that text was almost unreadable and was very hard on the eyes. In the meantime, the only store in town that sold them had closed. So, a year later we needed to replace monitors! Needless to say we didn't buy "AOC" brand again.

Even though I was an experienced web designer (since 1995) I was looking for cheap hosting for a new project of mine and someone had shown me bounceweb.com. The price was right and I paid for an extended hosting contract, unfortunately I was about to learn that you get what you pay for. The worst thing for any web publisher is downtime, and I got plenty of random downtime with their hosting company. I would go to my websites and they would simply not show up.
