Paypal is no Friend of Mine
2007-06-01 12:54:56
| "Over the years I estimate I earned Paypal well over $20,000 in income from my transactions, yet they just close my account -- that makes great business sense." |
I have heard many Paypal horror stories over the years and never really had a problem despite using Paypal for many years (since before they were hugely popular)
Well, even though I was within Paypals Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, Paypal closed my account without warning or without contacting me or asking questions first. It means that I am permanently banned from using Paypal to send or receive money.
I was not doing anything to damage the service or its users. I was selling a advertising which is a legitimate service but Paypal disagreed with one of the websites I was selling ads for. They completely over-reached on their terms of service and unjustly terminated my account.
I responded and appealed that I was within the acceptable use policy and asked for a second chance just to use the account for personal use (hey, we all need to eBay, right?) They replied to my emails and questions with form letters, basically indicating that there was nothing they would do to help me continue to use the service.
Over the years I estimate I earned Paypal well over $20,000 in income from my transactions, yet they just close my account -- that makes great business sense.
I was allowed to withdraw my funds from my account. But without being able to use Paypal anymore it makes buying on eBay extremely difficult.
Now I know why there are so many people who complain about Paypal and why the website paypalsucks.com was started. They have no compassion and no feelings for anyone but themselves.
